We welcome researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds and career stages who are motivated to pursue challenging projects in electrochemical science and engineering. ZhaoLab values curiosity, independence, creativity, and collaborative thinking across disciplines. Researchers with backgrounds in electrochemistry, materials science, polymer chemistry, chemical engineering, catalysis, physics, or related areas are encouraged to get in touch.

Undergraduates

We welcome motivated undergraduate and internship students for short-term or project-based research opportunities. Projects provide hands-on experience in electrochemistry, materials chemistry, catalysis, and sustainable energy technologies within an active research environment. 

Postgraduates (PhD & MPil)

Prospective postgraduate students are encouraged to contact Dr Zhao to discuss potential research projects and scholarship opportunities. Applicants may apply through university-funded scholarships, government programs, international scholarship schemes (e.g., CSC scholarships), or external fellowships. 

Postdoctoral Researchers

Although there are currently no funded postdoctoral positions available, outstanding candidates interested in external fellowship opportunities (e.g., ARC DECRA, CSC, Marie Curie, or other national/international schemes) are welcome to contact Dr Zhao to discuss potential research directions and sponsorship support. 

Visiting scholars

We welcome visiting researchers and international collaborators interested in electrochemical interfaces, catalysis, operando characterisation, and electrochemical systems. Prospective visitors are encouraged to get in touch early.
