Dr. Yong Zhao (he/him)
Lecturer, ARC DECRA Fellow
Dr Zhao leads ZhaoLab, focusing on electrochemical interfaces and reaction systems for sustainable fuels and chemicals. His research combines electroanalysis, electrocatalysis, in situ and operando spectroelectrochemistry, and electrochemical reaction engineering to advance the conversion of small molecules including CO₂, CO, H₂O, CH₄, H₂ and N₂.
Canyan Yang (she/her)
Canyan received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Materials and Chemical Engineering from Huaqiao University. She joined the group in Feb 2026 for her PhD study and is working on integrated CO₂ capture and electrochemical conversion through catalyst and system design.
Penghuan Liu (she/her)
Penghuan obtained her Master’s degree in Textile Materials and Textile Design from Qingdao University. In 2026, she began her PhD studies at the University of Newcastle, where her research focuses on developing high-performance catalysts and devices for electrocatalytic CH₄ oxidation and CO₂ reduction.
